The “foodie” culture is exploding, with no signs of slowing down. A “foodie” is someone who enjoys eating and sharing great food, and cares about who made the food, how it was made, what’s in it, and what’s new.
At the 2015 Summer Fancy Food Show, hosted by the Specialty Food Association, the best foods in the business were revealed at the “sofi” Awards ceremony on June, 29. The SOFIÂ Awards (Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation) are the “Oscars” of specialty food. This year there were 2,715 entries across 32 categories, from amazing chocolates and cheeses to salty snacks and hand-crafted salami.
