In honor of Mother’s Day the all-female rock band The Mrs. commissioned a survey of over 5,000 mothers, and found that nearly 95% of them feel inadequate about themselves at least some of the time. The survey also found that while nearly half (50%) of those surveyed report that they keep those negative feelings to themselves, almost ALL say that they want to be there for their friends when they are feeling down.
The Mrs. is on a mission to help empower women to make positive changes in their lives and to accept themselves just as they are. With The Mrs. Magic Mirror App users can offer their friends support and encouragement every day by sending little custom messages with words of encouragement like “Stay calm you’re a super Mom”
The Mrs. is also working to support organizations that uplift and empower women. At their recent concert in New York where they debuted their latest song “You Told Me” The Mrs. helped support Dress for Success, the nationwide organization that provides business attire and other services for women in need
In addition, to help draw attention to the tremendous value of all the little things Moms do and say every day, The Mrs. is sponsoring the #YouToldMe Mother’s Day Contest that runs now through midnight on May 8. The contest gives participants a chance to win $50,000 just by sharing their mother’s words of wisdom. The winner will be selected on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2015. To enter the contest, and for complete rules and details, go to www.themrs.com/youtoldme to access the entry form. There is no purchase necessary.
